In 1973, George Lup enrolled in a three-year Professional Tailoring Academy in Romania. Upon graduating and completing the final exam requirements of designing and creating a custom made suit, George accepted a tailoring position with a German company that manufactured jackets, trousers, and sport coats. It was there where George met Dolly. Dolly was employed as a seamstress within the same company.
George and Dolly engaged in a relationship, and married soon after. George and Dolly migrated to Fort Lauderdale Florida in1991. George took a Master Tailoring and Alterations position for Ervin Berlin Men’s Shop in downtown Hollywood Florida. Dolly accepted a seamstress position for Bernini Men’s Shop in Plantation Florida. In 2001 George and Dolly opened their first Tailoring and Alteration shop in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. After vacationing to Naples, they decided to open a second tailoring and alteration shop, where they enjoy serving their clients ever since.
Their son Benjamin Lup, joined the family business in 2002, and worked under close supervision by George and Dolly for three years. In 2005, Benjamin acquired ownership of the Tailoring and Alteration business in Ft. Lauderdale. Due to increase work volume from the Naples branch, Benjamin moved to Naples in 2010. His Master Tailor status is a valued asset that contributes to customer satisfaction and smooth business operation.
